Having the LD factory resealed

Hi All, We have an 02 MB. We understand that the coach should be resealed every 5 years or so. If this is true we are overdue.
 I was wondering if any of you have had this proceedure done at the Mothership. What exactly do they do, and how much does it cost? Is (was) it worthwhile doing? Could we do it ourselves?

Hoping your experience will help in making the decision.

The general "rule of thumb" is to reseal every about ten years or so as I understand it.  A good friend just had his roof resealed at the "Factory"
