City water September 20, 2009, 11:24:44 am Yahoo Message Number: 106013I just read the section below and got to wondering.. Am I able to fill my fresh water holding tank automaticly while I am connected to city water? If that is possibly, or if I can install a retrofit device to do that, I think life would be good. I have a 96 30IB. Just wondering.. Ed

The "filler" on the *end* of the hose varies; I use an inline filter and a plastic fill tube, and others may use something else. Terry Tanner uses a handy creation of his own design that he calls, "The Copper Stallion"; see the photos and write-up here:http://tinyurl.com/l9dmxuJoan

Cheers, DonDon In a word, NO! The system is not designed for water to flow backwards. The pump has a diaphram which allows water to flow ONLY from it's input to the output. If, as someone posted, water flowed from the city inlet, through the pump and into the fresh water tank then something is seriously wrong with that pump. Where is the problem with running a hose to the fresh water inlet and filling the tank as it was designed to be done? ? ? ? ?Steve S. Lazy Bones & Jiggs

Is there a one way check valve that could potentially fail? I do agree after hearing some of the comments that avoiding the city water hook-up all together makes sense.
