Emergency Road Service recommendation desired

I need to pick an emergency road service for our Lazy Daze 23.5 FD and our three cars.

AAA will not work.

I am torn between Good Sam and Coach-Net.
Which one would the group members recommend. If you have time to state why you choose one over the other that would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

John,
I just had the worst experience a person could have with Good Sam.  Basically they refused to provide service for a lock out.  After much discussion they approved it finally and then called up a day later and said they had changed their mind.  The cost is going up another $10 and I can get better coverage via my Progressive Insurance for less than 1/2 the price and not have to put up with all their mail and bad attitude.  This is the first time I had to use them and shall be the last.  They seem to really be a glorified towing service via my discussions with them.

I have heard Affinity Group, is not doing real financially. Just like a large number of other RV related businesses. I have used them in the past and their service was pretty good. I think the cost was only about $80, so it was well worth it....as long as they stay in business, that is!

We've used Good Sam's ERS since we first started fulltiming back in 1998.
During all that time, we've only had to use them twice (knock on wood), and had excellent service each time.
However, the above statement by Douglas is the reason that we will probably change over to CoachNet when our current GS ERS term is up...I'd hate to have a breakdown some place and find that the GS ERS is unusable because they've gone out of business!  Even if they don't go out of business, if they're in financial trouble, payment to service providers may be delayed to the point that they (the service providers) won't go out on a service call.
Of course, none of this may come to pass, but I'm not willing to take the chance that, because of Affinity Group's financial troubles, we may be left high and dry if the time ever comes again that we need roadside service.

--- A very good point, and one of the reasons why I carry Coach-Net. AGI, Inc., has many fingers in many pies; the extensive lists of Affinity Group holdings on this page might be "enlightening" to some:

GS must be getting desperate. I received 4 notices by mail that my subscription is due. It started 3 months ago which was 4 months to the end of my contract. Today I get a phone call offering a two year 'deal' for only $174.95. Based on what I have read and what I have heard from friends I think I will switch to Coach-net.

You can search either Yahoo's or Art's archive (http://www.lazydazers.org/Yahoo/msg_display.php>) for those terms and find lot of discussion.
The consensus here and elsewhere seems to be that Coach-Net is the best of the available services. Unlike the other companies, at Coach-Net the person who answers the phone is a trained RV technician.
And as folks here have pointed out, with Good Sam's parent company, Affinity Group, in financial trouble, you can't count on Good Sam road service to be there when you need it. For both those reasons, I chose Coach-Net. I haven't had to use them yet, so I can't say how good they are from firsthand experience, but they seem like the best bet.

Which one would the group members recommend."
I've had Good Sam since I got my Lazy Daze in 2003. I used it a couple of times for my car without any problems. I never needed it for the motorhome. Then, just last Friday, right before the Labor Day weekend, I got a flat tire on my car.  I called Good Sam and gave all the information.  The lady repeated correctly all the information that I gave her--membership number, address of my location, etc.  She said someone would be there within 55 minutes.  About 45 minutes later I received a call from the towing service saying that they couldn't find me.  It turned out that they were in a town a couple of hours away.  I was on Livingston St. in Northvale and they sent someone out to Livingston St. in Livingston.  After several more calls to Good Sam, someone finally came to change my tire.  I was not in a remote area but in the middle of a populated town.  It was about 2 1/2 hours before my tire was finally changed.  I am seriously thinking of changing to Coach-Net when it comes time to renew.  One thing I do like about Good Sam is that I like to print out directions.  I use them just as a guide because I have a GPS.  One feature I like from the printout is it tells you where the rest stops are.  Also, one can select to avoid major bridges or tunnels and there are other options.  I don't know if Coach-Net has this feature.

One more service Coach-Net offers that Good Sam does not (at least I couldn't find it):

"EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE Coach-Net members have access to 24-hour emergency medical assistance anywhere in the world. Services include: *Emergency Medical Transportation (assistance) *Medical Referrals *Emergency Prescription Replacement *Dispatch of Doctor or Specialist *Family Liaison and Message Relay *Medical Case Monitoring"
