South Beach State Park in Oregon?
Yahoo Message Number: 105076
We were thinking of going to South Beach St. Park on the Oregon's Coast, but the Park is just huge. Has anyone on this site gone there? How was it? I looked it up in the Database but didn't find any comments on it.
Thanks

South Beach was our favorite state park when we lived in Eugene.  It is huge, but the spaces are not crowded together.  They have nice restrooms and hot showers.  The great thing about South Beach is the beach.  You walk over the sand dunes to get to the ocean, then you can spend all day walking the vast beach.  Seems to go on forever.  Great beach for finding agates.  The only downside, if any, is that you can't see the ocean from the camping area.  You must walk a short distance to it.

Butch, it depends on what time of the year you go.  We were there in August a couple of years ago and never saw the sun for 3 days with all the coastal fog.  The Hatfield Science center is within walking distance and a must see imo.

The best time to visit the Oregon Coast is in the month of October.  I used to live in Portland.
