Rich, I did one on a friends screen door and it worked well but you can't see out very well due to the density of the pet screen. The upper part still allowed light through as it was OEM. Good luck, John Leach, Prescott, Az.

"anyone had experience replacing the OEM screens with Pet Screen? http://www.petscreenkit.com/

We have it on all of our windows in our stick house for years. Stuff is indestructible."
Got this at Camping World and it works very well keeping our two dogs from poking out the lower screen on the screen door.  Installation needs to be precise to ensure the guard does not impede door closing.

No dogs, we have two indoor-only cats who are quite capable of shredding standard aluminium screening. The Pet Screen is impervious and keeps them safely inside of our house.

The pet screen works wonders on my SOB screen door. My 70 lb Doberman's nails don't phase it. I used it on the sticks and bricks, too.

I did wonder about what appear to be larger screen holes than standard window screen, but I haven't experienced any increase in bugs.

I would suggest you buy a smaller spline, as it's a bear getting the old spline back in--the pet screen material is thicker.

Instead of replacing the screen in our 96 RB, my brother, the former owner, installed a white grating over the screen so his cats would not be tempted to climb the screen. It looks like something he may have gotten at a place like home depot, cut to fit the door. My grandkids thought it was like little tiny ice cube trays without the bottom!

I got some hardware cloth (1/2x1/2" openings) with a white vinyl coating at Ace Hardware.  I've installed it over my regular screen door on the entire lower half and about 8" above the "slide" (someone who is VERY CLEVER tries to unlatch the door, and ripped the upper screen, too).  It's fastened in place with self-tapping, washer head finish screws, and works very well.  I used a nail nipping tool to trim the hardware cloth very closely so there are no rough edges.

If you just want to keep your fur kids from scratching your screen door, I have a very cheap way of doing it.  In previous RVs I have used the fancy screen door grate from CW and also made one from a cut-to- fit piece of garden lattice and painted it white.  But with Dog Daze (DD) I just found some old pieces of lattice, cut them to fit, painted and sanded, and screwed them onto the screen door.  The only thing I paid for was the teeny screws and matching washers.  It is working perfectly.  I am now thinking of also using a latch w/eye screw to keep the screen door closed in case a dog got excited if a visitor came up to the rig.  If you want to see my finished screen door, go to the photo section and look under "Dog Daze".
