Re: mailinglist Reply #1 – July 09, 2009, 08:53:36 pm Yahoo Message Number: 103794"Please remove me from your mail list." William, every email you've received from this group has included simple instructions for changing your settings (many of us prefer "daily digest" or "no emails" mode), or for removing yourself from the group. Just look at the end of any message. :-)Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/
Re: mailinglist Reply #2 – July 10, 2009, 06:21:29 pm Yahoo Message Number: 103812Hello William and anyone else who is reading this, I am a new subscriber to life with lazy daze rv because we just purchased a used model which we will restore over time. I maybe did something wrong when I subscribed because I am bombarded with emails which I don't want to see. How do I get out of this.? Have you been able to stop the emails? I like to go to the forum myself and search out the topics but I don't want to see dozens of emails each day on my personal email account. I assure you, you are not on my email list - I just replied to your message - why did it come to me? I have only been on the site a couple of weeks. I have never been on a forum before so don't know exactly how things work and how to control the messages??? Helpthanks Cathi__
Re: mailinglist Reply #3 – July 10, 2009, 06:35:28 pm Yahoo Message Number: 103813Hello Cathi - When you joined the group, you also signed up to receive e-mail messages from the group. All of them! To change how you want to receive/read messages, go to the bottom of any message you have received and click on, "To change settings on-line go to:" When you get there you can change how you receive messages. If you never want to receive a message, and want to read them only on-line, just check the box that says, "Web Only." That will fix your problem.Dick
Re: mailinglist Reply #4 – July 10, 2009, 06:35:37 pm Yahoo Message Number: 103814good luck!! I've been trying to get off this e-mail list for weeks....every morning its the same, wake up, remove the e-mails
Re: mailinglist Reply #5 – July 10, 2009, 06:40:44 pm Yahoo Message Number: 103815Cathi If you look at any of these emails there is a link on every single one of them that says unsubscribe. Just click on it. Subscribe means you get the emails. Unsubscribe and you don't.You can still belong to the group and read at the website.Join means you are a member and can read on the Yahoo site.Subscribe mean you have the messages delvered to your mailbox. Two different things...However you subscribed and can just as easily unsubscribe, via an email or going to the Yahoo group..Garry
Re: mailinglist Reply #6 – July 10, 2009, 06:50:41 pm Yahoo Message Number: 103816If you unsubscribe from a Yahoo group, you are no longer a member and can't access member only areas of the website. The only way to stay a member and not receive e-mails is to go to the e-mail settings of your profile and change how or if you want to receive e-mails.Dick
Re: mailing list Reply #7 – July 10, 2009, 06:56:31 pm Yahoo Message Number: 103817"I like to go to the forum myself and search out the topics but I don't want to see dozens of emails each day on my personal email account." Cathi (and others), in addition to the helpful links at the bottom of every email you get from the group, you can change your preferences from the group's website. On any page of the forum, look just below the annoying banner ad at the top for the link "Edit Membership" in small blue letters. Click on that, and you'll be taken to a page where you can change your message delivery preferences from individual emails to either daily digests or "web only"--no emails at all. You were actually given this same choice when you signed up, but apparently many people breeze through the process without actually reading what's on the screen... just as many people apparently don't notice the text at the end of every single email they receive:Well, now you know. :-) One last note: it often takes a day or two for email preference changes to take effect, so don't expect the emails to stop instantly.Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/
Re: mailinglist Reply #8 – July 10, 2009, 06:57:56 pm Yahoo Message Number: 103818Well Thom have you actually followed directions and unsubscribe? If its too tough to click on the unsubscribe button thenJust send a message with this as the To: lifewithalazydazerv-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.comIt does have to be from the account that is getting the emails.... It really is that simple..now it can take a while for this to move through Yahoo but usually no more than a few hours and often less.Garry

Re: mailing list Reply #11 – July 11, 2009, 12:51:29 am Yahoo Message Number: 103825Thank you Andy, Dave, and all others who answered. I have followed your instructions (duh) okay I did answer the question incorrectly when I signed up. I love the emails, there is an incredible amount of info shared - it's just that right now - while I still (uhgh - hate using 4-letter words) w---, I don't have the time to weed through all the messages looking for my work stuff. Thanks all for your help. I will be a silent participant for a while. We pick up The Daisy on July 21st. After that - I think plenty of questions may follow!Cathi__
Re: mailing list Reply #12 – July 11, 2009, 01:13:09 am Yahoo Message Number: 103826Lots of people have that problem when they don't have their e-mail set up correctly. My daughter and sister are prime examples. Don't know what you use for an e-mail program, but with something like Outlook Express or Outlook you can set up as many folders as you like. I have about 50 folders set up to keep everything separated. There is one specifically for Lazy Daze, and only the Lazy Daze messages go into that folder. I can read them at my leisure without interfering with any other messages.Dick

This service does have its occasional quirks... but then again, it isn't costing us anything, so... :-)Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/

Thanks for pointing that out, Dick. If all you want to do is stop the flood of emails, but you still want access to all the group's features, DO NOT unsubscribe! Just edit your membership's message delivery preference, as described earlier.Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/

Re: mailinglist Reply #16 – July 11, 2009, 08:17:12 pm Yahoo Message Number: 103843Yes, but it's easier and more foolproof for some to just click the .../join address at the bottom of every message, then click Web Only.Dick
