The Murphys 2005 - 30' IB Bruin Blue & Gold OC, CA Sure The campground in Morro Bay State Park is very nicely treed with a nice hike up the hill behind the park and numerous trails about a mile inland. Getting reservations for hookups is very difficult. It is across the street from the marina. Morro Strand is on the beach but is more like two giant parking lots. I don't think you can fit into Montana d'oro State Park. There is also a state park north of San Simeon. There are several private campgrounds also in Morro Bay, one near the power plant and another on route 41 just east of hwy 1.Glenn Oelker

We tried several weeks ago for a week during July and found the parks to be mostly booked. It is a VERY popular area. Morro Strand SP and San Simeon SP are two other camps in the area. There are a couple of private RV parks in the area but we have never stayed there and cannot recommend them.Larry

This is where Larry W holds his annual GTG and I'm sure he will chime in with further info. If you go to the photos section on the left and the third one over "Name that Rig" you will see 24 happy campers from last year. Joe Hamm-San Jose

It is on the mountain side of Highway 1 nearer 4 miles north of San Luis Obispo, but not far from Morro Bay. There are 44 sites with full hookups and 18 with no hookups. The sites may not be totally level and some are not very large, but we stayed there in our 26.5. Most of the sites have some privacy and large trees. The phone number is (805)781-5930. I don't know if they take reservations. Mary Tribbett
