Overcharging Batteries on shore power?
Yahoo Message Number: 100141
Ok, so I got the new (used actually) rig, a 1990 26.5 Mid Bath.  I have it out in driveway, and of course the kids are very excited and spend a lot of time in there (slept in it last night).  They are also reading, watching movies, lights on, etc.,  so I have it hooked up to shore power.  My question is: does leaving the rig hooked up for a long time (days) on shore power hurt the batteries?  The house batteries are 2 Excide Electric Vehicle Batteries (GC-5) and are hooked up to a little box that says "SureCharge IV 12 Volt Battery Charger/Maintainer with auto float control". From what I have read, I think I should unhook it from shore power until the batteries are down to 50%, then hook it up again.  Would that be correct? Thanks for the help.

It shouldn't.
We are fulltimers, and while we do a lot of boondocking, in the winter, we're often hooked up to shore power for months at a time without any detrimental effect to the batteries.

Looks to me that this battery maintainer is designed to plug into AC outlet and is hooked directly to batteries completely separate from your on board converter system.  Is the battery maintainer plugged into AC outlet on LD?  Maybe you can elaborate on how the battery maintainer you are talking about is hooked up to batteries.
Typically these type of maintainers are designed to keep batteries charged when
