Tough times in L.A.

As a sign of the times in the greater Los Angeles area, a City Councilman has proposed setting aside designated zones for people who are living in their RV's to park on a permanent or semi-permanent basis.

A picture featured in today's L.A. Times shows RV's parked on the street in Venice, CA. The vintage of the vehicles appear to be 70's and 80's. some showing tarps on the roof to protect from today's rare rain storm.

Lots better than park benches, sez I, but still a sad story.

The City of Portland, Oregon did this several years ago (I don't know if it still exists) for the homeless living in tents and aptly named it "Dignity Village"!  Can you imagine living in a tent in the rainy Pacific Northwest? Probably better than Sheriff Joe's 'tent city' in Phoenix - at least you can leave if you care to.

For those who love the RV lifestyle, I recently found a cooking web site that is fantastic!!! Makes RVing and cooking great fun as the host not only shares her recipes and how to do them, but interesting RV travel sites around the USA.

Go to: www. RVcookingshow.com. Have fun and enjoy!
