Nuvi Quirk December 27, 2008, 11:49:27 am Yahoo Message Number: 98173Perhaps I'm just the last person to realize this operating quirk but in case not... Thinking that my Nuvi 750 was malfunctioning I learned the following from Garmin support (the "operating manual" is pathetic): When I use the Nuvi in my auto, the power outlet, and so the cradle, is only powered when the ignition key is in the accessory or on positions. Hence, when I turn the unit on with the slide switch (operating on the Nuvi battery) or by turning the ignition key, the Nuvi powers up normally, scrolling to the Menu page through the title, map loading and Agreement pages. However, when connected via the cradle through my always powered outlet (from the house batteries) in the RV, the Nuvi apparently continues to receive power and only the display is turned off with the slide switch. So when turning on the Nuvi with the slide switch in the morning I was shocked to see the Menu page displayed almost instantly and thought the Nuvi was malfunctioning. Not so. Now I think that's rather nice feature!Paul NE50
