We have the 2 shelves above the TV, with a VCR/DVD immediately above the TV and our digital TV box and the Analog box on the top shelf. It's a tight fit, but they both work there just fine.I have an entry on my blog about the installation (although a friend did it for me, so it's not too technical). If you want, you can read about it here http://cholulared.blogspot.com/2008/10/tv-on-my-computer.html or http://tinyurl.com/a98orzWhile we're on the subject, I HATE that the remotes don't work through the smoky LD glass, anyone replaces it with anything else?Kate http://cholulared.blogspot.com &http://www.cholulared.comWant to find us? You do have to have a direct line of sight between the remote and the converter though!Steve S. Lazy Bones & Jiggs

I talked to Steve about this and he said some of them worked and others don't, but he didn't know why.I can tell you, it's a major pain.I'm thinking about removing the glass and replacing it with a wire mesh or some loos weave fabric.Kate http://cholulared.blogspot.com &http://www.cholulared.comWant to find us? Kate, There are IR repeaters designed for situations where the equipment is hidden from view (like a solid door entertainment cabinet). You would have to mount the IR receiver somewhere visible to the remote. Many of these systems will work on 12V.Art

I seem to be a bit of a geek and have so many, I'd rather add another toy rather than something like this.Oh well, at least I have options. Is everyone enjoying Christmas Eve?I hope so, Joy to All.Katehttp://cholulared.blogspot.com &http://www.cholulared.comWant to find us? infrared was Digital/Analog Box install on 30 ft. Reply #8 – December 24, 2008, 02:09:13 pm Yahoo Message Number: 98120One way to see your remote is with a camera. Many cameras are sensitive to the infrared LED light that the remote puts out so you could aim and fire the remote into your camera and see if you see the light then do it through the glass to see if your glass is blocking the light. The best way to keep a remote working strongest is to take it apart and clean the keypad and circuit board with something like alcohol. That's how we fixed our remote that wouldn't trigger through the glass. Now it works fine assuming the batteries are adequate. Here are two pictures of our remote firing, one with a Hoya 76 infrared filter and one without. This is an excellent way to also check your camera's sensitivity to infrared. The Olympus C2100 is one of the better cameras to use for infrared photography and for any photography for that matter. That's what I used here. http://flickr.com/photos/safoocat/3133189891/in/photostream/Michelle * http://safoocat.blogspot.com/%c2%a0 * http://flickr.com/photos/safoocat/ * http://amazon.com/shops/safoocat As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.

I just think we got one of the doors that won't let the remotes shine through.Kate http://cholulared.blogspot.com &http://www.cholulared.comWant to find us? Steve says he has heard this from other people, so I have to believe that they probably got a batch of darkened glass that has something

Greetings, Kate, Our '02 30'TB has wire mesh, rather than the smoked glass. We have no problem with the remotes. It should be pretty straight forward to swap the glass for wire mesh, if you decide to try that.Peace!Sharon N.Crossville, TN
