Portable generator

Hi folks,
 I don't know whether this is applicable to RV use, but the following Cummins portable generator is on sale at Costco.com.  It looks really big.  Are all portables that big?  Is that a good price?

 This is absolutely NOT suitable for RV use (unless you don't want to make any friends in the campground)!!!

According to this website, http://www.poweredgenerators.com/onan/homesite-power6500.html, the db rating is 76, which means it's LOUD!
 For anyone looking for a portable generator for RV use, look at the quiet inverter generators from Honda or Yamaha which have db ratings of around 53 to 60.

I agree, this unit would be louder than most people would tolerate.  I have an '88MB without a generator.  I purchased a small Honda unit.  It fits in the outside cargo box by the door.  I have rigged an eyebolt so that I can chain the generator up while out.  Not big enough to run the air, but I usually use my rig where air is not needed.  The small 1000 watt generator is ample for my needs.  Charges the batteries, runs all of the lights and heater plower that I need (I use my rig in the winter at the local ski resort - I teach skiing on the weekends).  You might try this route instead.  Good luck.
