Escapees Parks January 25, 2008, 07:12:04 pm Yahoo Message Number: 88846Sharon, I'm with you and hate to see natural landscaping destroyed only to be replaced with something designed by man. I'm an Escapees member too, and the Escapees parks I've been to all leave a lot to be desired. Some are located far from any shopping or restaurants, they must have a rule against plants and flowers at the sites whether owned or rented. They are just not attractive at all. The one in Deming NM for instance is a big ugly gravel parking lot. The one in Casa Grande I don't care for the location, and the sites were almost barren of any vegetation. The prominent feature of each lot was an ugly storage shed. The one in Pecos TX I was going to stay at once till I saw it, then kept going, (that was a number of yrs ago so maybe it's better now?) I guess it's a matter of money, and that's the same reason for what happened at Rainbow's End. Mari

That's why *most* of the Escapees parks are farther away from attractions than you may like.Quotethey must have a rule against plants and flowers at the sites whether owned or rented. You apparently haven't been to all the Escapees parks, particularly the Co-ops. I'm thinking of the SKP park in Coarsegold, CA in particular, although the ones in Sutherlin, OR and Chimicum, WA are very nice with lots of trees and flowers.QuoteThe one in Deming NM for instance is a big ugly gravel parking lot. The one in Pecos TX I was going to stay at once till I saw it, then kept going, The parks in Deming and Pecos are both Rainbow Parks and are really only RV parks, mostly meant for short-term stays, although Deming does have some ERPU sites. I agree about the Casa Grande park. It's a Co-op park, but it is, after all, in the desert, so you're not going to find lush vegetation there. The Casa Grande park is one of the first Escapees Co-op parks, the lots are small, and they don't seem to have had a committee set up to approve additions, so you've got ugly sheds on the lot and sometimes more than one.Linda Hylton http://map.datastormusers.com/user1.cfm?user=1167 http://earl-linda.blogspot.com/

Re: Escapees Parks Reply #4 – January 27, 2008, 09:21:04 am Yahoo Message Number: 88917I'll have to apologize for my comments on Escapees Parks as I haven't seen all of them. It sounds like the Saguaro is a nice one. Yes, I do realize that the cheaper land is out farther, but some nice plants and flowers can improve the ambience of any place.
