Follow-ups Heliotrope's HPV-22B swap out for a HPV-22 Heliotrope's HPV-22B swap out for a HPV-22 January 25, 2008, 03:15:55 pm Yahoo Message Number: 88832I decided to upgrade my solar controller from the HPV-22 to the 22B. I ordered it and got it in the mail a few days later. I noticed that the new 22B came with a coiled up wire temperature probe. I have not pulled off the older unit yet but I thought the 22 also had the probe? If it does not, I am not sure how difficult it would be to run the wire from the controllers location to the battery compartment. Anyone who has changed out their controller have any advise? I sent an e-mail to AM Solar asking this question but have not yet gotten a response. Thanks,Larry in South Texas

You'll find the temperature sensor connection when you remove the old unit.Malcolm in South Central Texas

No need to run any extra wires. I do however suggest that you pull the solar panel fuse before doing it so you don't pop it like I did. Good luck......mikeLooking for last minute shopping deals? Easy job, I do wonder why AM Solar sends the temperature probe with the new units when they know that this was for a swap out with and older model and the old probe wire was
