Visit to Mothership Travelling in the California Desert Area January 18, 2008, 02:09:37 pm Yahoo Message Number: 88543After six months as full-timers with our new-to-us 1998 LD MB, we are slowly travelling through the Palm Springs-Indio area to Joshua Tree Nat'l Park. It's been a joy so far! I love having a Nuvi 660 and our two recumbent bicycles along for side transport. No tow vehicle at this time. Two weeks ago we camped at Prado Regional Park (Chino, CA) as we visited the mothership in Monclair. For $22 a night, I totally recommend it. Their telephone is: (909-597-4260). Lots of walking and bike trails plus a lake for fishing and bird watching. We have contracted with Tim (formerly of Lazy Daze) to make and install Canoe/Kayaks racks for our LD. So while we are waiting around this area, it's about time to get a 60,000 mile maintenance. Can anyone suggest good dealerships/mechanic for the Ford inspection within a two hour drive (Riverside, Palm Springs, Pomona, etc)? Thanks for your help. David

Peck Ford, 2450 Kella Ave, City of Industry, is the port for incoming Lazy Daze chassis, and the only motorhome they service is Lazy Daze. Their service department is open 7:00 am until midnight and can accommodate appointments within that time frame.Contact Tom Clifton for a daytime appointment, or Andy? for an evening appointment: 562/692-7267.My Garmin told me to exit the 605 at Kella Avenue; signage for the proper exit is actually "Peck Road." Hope your Nuvi is more accurate -- the interchange is a bit dicey!Lorna, Santa Cruz with a 70K service appointment on the horizon
