Did you take delivery recently at Las Vegas? January 05, 2008, 01:31:35 pm Yahoo Message Number: 87920Where did you stay your first night? The "mothership" gave us two suggestions: The Silverton Casino and The Oasis RV resort. The Silverton no longer has spots for RV's and the Oasis charges what you would expect for an RV resort ($44.00 on up per night). But we'll be getting there after dark and pulling out first thing in the morning to head back west. That seems a lot to pay for a parking spot. Any other options? My impression is that the Wal-Marts around Vegas do not welcome overnighters. What have others done in this circumstance? Thanks in advance for any suggestions! Clarkie

Clarkie>>Hi Clarkie, The first week in Dec. I was driven to Las Vegas and stayed at the Oasis. I got there in the afternoon, sat down with the notary, payed their price, found my spot, then drove directly to the WalMart (ask the notary for her good directions) to get supplies, and got gas on the way back to the RV park. It was near dark by that time and I left early the next morning. Pity I couldnt take advantage of their amenities but needed to get home quickly. You cant stay at the WalMart. It looks like big city parking to me and has all sorts of stores with it that uses that parking lot too. I dont think there are any other RV parks in that general area so you might just forget that you are paying a big price just to park like I did and just enjoy exploring your new LD while you are parked with hook ups. This wont be the first time youll have to pay a premium price when you dont want to. Boondocking will even things out for you. Enjoy your new LD!!Judy Wms.[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

The Strip is, from the Oasis, a right turn out the driveway and a left turn at the light and straight ahead...since traffic is bumper to bumper and creeps along, you might also check out an off-Strip way to get to whatever casino has the overnight parking. Clarkie, You might find this Yahoo Group useful. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/OvernightRVParking/ There are 13 Las Vegas locations listed in the File section. Based on the current listings it may be wise to call to verify if the listed disposition is current. All locations listed have phone numbers.Malcolm Blue02MB

The more I "looked" around on-line at spots that do allow over-night parking, I decided we might as well take Judy's suggestion and just pay the Oasis folks for the privilege of a secure, relatively quiet night. We'll look for the freebies when we're more experienced! And I DO look forward to more experience in our wonderful new LD! Clarkie
