--- Mariel, Yahoo! cuts off email addresses in posts, so try spelling out at "at" and the "dot" when you re-post your email address, e.g. samjones at gmail dot com. (Spelling out "dot" isn't really necessary, but spelling out "at" is.)

 Not on the LD Group's Yahoo website--email addresses come through just fine here. It must be a quirk that affects email and digest subscribers.

In my experience, the email address *always* appears as truncated before the "@".

 That's because you're the moderator...other people who are reading messages at the website see truncated email addresses.

I believe you and Joan are seeing what you're seeing... but it certainly is strange, because I'm looking at Marial's full address right now in the website message recently posted, and Kate can see it too. It's visible in both Firefox and Safari browsers on my Mac.
(Kate's using a Mac as well...maybe that's a clue?)
 But if addresses are being truncated for whatever reason on at least some machines, the advice you gave is still valid: always change the @ symbol to "at" just in case. :-)

Two different issues here. Yes, I see the email address of everyone who posts because I'm a moderator. But that's completely separate from seeing email addresses embedded in messages. Linda and Kate can see them, and they're not moderators. So... it's a Yahoo mystery! ;-)

Well, addresses are truncated for me in Firefox, when reading messages on the group website.

If one reads , it would appear that only the "owner" and moderators can see the full email address on the website.  I believe that when messages are delivered by email or digest, then the full addresses are available.
This is almost certainly done to prevent email "harvesting" by bots scanning the publically readable posts.

 Nope, the email address is truncated when viewed on my Mac or PC with any browser.  I do see the entire email address on both computers when I check the email digest that I receive.

Perhaps Kate has somehow been given moderator status by Yahoo?

I searched for the e-mail address regarding the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and could not find a valid one because of the truncated issue, which is why I posted the original request for contact information.  Did not think it would start an avalanche of request and for that I apologize. Sorry Andy.
This issue has been a problem since 2003 when I first joined this group, which was the first Yahoo group I joined and at that time tried to contact people only to realize the e-mail posted would not work for follow-up.
I put my e-mail contact in my profile for that reason so if anyone who might wish to contact me could.,  Posting my e-mail here has not caused a problem.  If others want to be accessable you might list your e-mail in your profile.  If you wish to hide, then don't Henry

Actually, I read the posts via email, so that's what I was referring to.  I never even look at the website, just get the whole thing via email.

Yes it is as I only see the whole addresses on the website on lists I moderate. However I also have most lists emailed to me and the addresses are always visible then. I assume it makes no difference as to what browser you are using on the Mac.

As you say another Yahoo thing.

 But isn't Kate a co-moderator of this group?  If so, that's why you and she can see the entire address when you read a post at the website.  The rest of us who read messages at the website see truncated email addresses.

 OK, I'm confused.  If it's ME you're referring to, I read messages from this group via email, NOT at the website.  However, on those rare occasions when I do read a message at the website, if the message contains an email address, it's truncated.
 As for Kate, I thought at one time she told me she was a co-moderator, but I'm obviously mistaken.  At any rate, in a previous post, I *think* Kate said she reads the messages via email, not at the website, so she -- like me -- sees an entire email address when included in a post.

Sorry for stirring up confusion, folks. Yes, Kate still has co-moderator privileges, though the active work is mostly done by me (with Judie helping approve new members)... so perhaps that's why we both see email addresses embedded in posts. I don't know for sure--much of what Yahoo does makes little sense to me. In any case, it isn't important, so let's move on. :-)

 just to throw in a wrench, I get full email addresses as well, I have done both emails and digest and the addresses come through just fine, both ways.

I have the same machine as Joan Taylor, but have never had that problem. What does that tell you?  Just confuses me.

This is correct.  To summarize:

1. Yahoo Group website = truncated email addresses (moderators excepted)
2. Email digest = complete email addresses
3. Individual email = complete email addresses
