Here is where LD got those curtains. I would call them for instructions on how to clean or replace.Creative Draperies P.O, Box 5024 Norco, Ca 92860 951-735-2705Joe Hamm-2003 MB

The action of a washing machine would very likely either crease/break the "rubberized" backing on the drapes or the things would shred and disintegrate. They would probably survive gentle soaking and handwashing, then carefully hanging them to drip dry (by the headers). The headers would have to be "shaped" and the curtains themselves "repleated" by hand while the curtains were still damp; pressing (ironing) these curtains, even on a very low heat setting, could melt the backing. Personally, I'd take them to a dry cleaner experienced in cleaning draperies! If you call Norco, please post their "cleaning advice" response; thank you!Joan

I should take them down, sometime when the DW does not have them closed when she too lazy to put up one of four windshield curtains we have. They might survive dry cleaning, which is not a dry process you know.

Re: Cab Curtains Reply #7 – September 10, 2012, 04:58:24 pm Yahoo Message Number: 133334Thanks for the contact info. Ours are getting a little worn out along the creases so I called and spoke with Tom. A replacement set is $120 plus shipping.Danny
Re: Cab Curtains Reply #8 – September 10, 2012, 07:11:15 pm Yahoo Message Number: 133342FYI: LD 2000 IB I just removed the curtain at the cab front "faux" window. I'm sure it has never been removed or treated. Washed it in a gentle cycle, cold water in my Splendide in our live-in rig. The front loader washed it just fine. Hung it on the clothesline to dry. It did just fine. I'd say it doesn't have the "stiffness" but otherwise did well. Seems to me, it would be worthwhile to at least try a washing before counting it out. Thanks for the report on replacement cost. Norma Taylor[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Re: Cab Curtains Reply #9 – September 11, 2012, 10:27:59 am Yahoo Message Number: 133366Danny..Can you clarify what the $120 cost covers exactly? I suspect it certainly is not all the curtains in the LD but just the ones up in the drivers compartment (which I don't have for our '85) -- just curious since we've got some really OLD curtains in a fine two-tone-ish gold scheme as I recall.. :-)--Rick[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Re: Cab Curtains Reply #11 – September 11, 2012, 01:09:30 pm Yahoo Message Number: 133379DW called Vernie yesterday. The price is "rig dependent" or one may not wish to replace them all. The bottom line for us is they are 9 years old and would probably disintegrate in the washing machine. If you try to spot clean, it will leave a ring like "around-the-collar". My age is showing. She did give us a price estimate which seems in line with what has been posted here and in "The Companion".Bob & Judy 2003 MB Empyrean
Re: Cab Curtains Reply #12 – September 11, 2012, 03:31:55 pm Yahoo Message Number: 133390LD2000 IB. 12 years old, and I just removed the cab curtains, washed them in my little Splendide front loader on delicate cycle. Hung them outside to dry. They did wonderfully well. Clean and in one piece. But taking them down was labor intensive! They did as well as the faux curtain up top.Norma Taylor[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Re: Cab Curtains Reply #14 – September 12, 2012, 10:35:16 am Yahoo Message Number: 133414Another alternative is to make your own. I ordered 2 pair of machine washable insulated pinch pleat drapes from Blair.com. It took 2 panels sewn together for each side. I cut the length so it comes almost down to the top of the seats, which gives more privacy and insulation and is better looking. Depending on the type of track your curtains are in, you can buy the glide tape (it took 2 packages) at Camping World or most RV parts stores. Had to cut the plastic glide tape and sew each snap individually onto the drapes between the pleats. Time consuming but they look much better than the original and cost about $40 for everything.Gayle
Re: Cab Curtains Reply #15 – September 12, 2012, 11:38:33 am Yahoo Message Number: 133415Thanks. A great option; and the longer length makes good sense. Norma Taylor LD 2000 IB[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Re: Cab Curtains Reply #16 – September 24, 2012, 04:49:32 pm Yahoo Message Number: 133820Rick, that price was for the cab curtains only. Just in case, check to make sure it's not $120 each side. I thought that was for both since I did mention to him that I needed both. But it doesn't hurt to double check.By the way, sorry for the late post.Danny
