'08 Chassis comments November 16, 2007, 01:38:23 am Yahoo Message Number: 85987I was working in SoCal this week and used the opportunity to stop by the factory (I had not been there since taking delivery in Sep-06). Besides buying a new sweatshirt (the one I had shrunk significantly), I looked at the new '08 chassis. According to LD folks virtually all of the increased GVW will flow through to CCC. They think this will be a big deal to 30 foot buyers, since that model is CCC thin. 24 and 27 footers, not that important. One thing they are not really pleased with is the entire front end, the aggressive looking chrome grille, is all plastic. They do not think it will hold up very well. One thing that surprised me was that everything behind the firewall is identical, no increased legroom, etc. Just a longer nose.-Dave '06 MB, Indianapolis

Total bill for parts (grille, grille mount, right headlight assembly) was $619. I installed the parts myself and saved a bunch in labor.Chris

Maybe the new chromed up design will scare off the critters more effectively Quoteand I'm sure that metal would have been damaged by the impact.
