Zion Nat'l Park East Entrance

We'll soon be heading for Zion Nat'l park in our 26' LD, with car in tow.  Can anyone tell me about the east entrance?   1)I understand a guide car takes you through the tunnel.  Any problems with this?
2) I recall that from the tunnel to the valley floor the road is
 pretty steep.  We traveled it in a car several years agon.  Any words of wisdom about this road for our LD with tow car?

Bobbi, I did that last summer.  Don't recall a guide car but they do stop traffic at each end to allow you to tavel down the center of the tunnel.  I think it was $10 for 2 passes.

We been through the tunnel a couple of times.  We came in from the East last spring.  There is no escort vehicle (that we can remember) but they do make RVs line up and wait until the tunnel is emptied.
Then the tunnel is made one-way so that you can drive down the middle of the road.  The tunnel is arch shaped and fairly small, so big rigs have to drive the center to insure they don't hit their top corners.
This is more of a problem for the really tall rigs.  There is a $15 fee because of this.  The road down to the valley is narrow with a few sharp switchback curves.  But we drove it in our 26.5 MB towing a Jeep without problems.  I probably used 2nd gear much of the descent.

We just returned from an awsome trip to Utah that included going to Zion, last week. We were escorted by a snow plow going threw the tunnel from the east, due to an over night snow storm. It cost $15 bucks , which was good to return back threw the tunnel from the west if you use it (I belive within 7 days?)Returning from the west there was no escort- they only stopped traffic for us to go threw alone. It must be quite a delay during the busy season? We have a 2001 30ft. IB and don't tow, however would see no problem if we did , and certainly would do it again if we returned.
