I just about fell out of my car yesterday. Driving north on hwy 85 near San Jose, I came upon an older RV. Has I got closer I could see the LD name on the spare tire. Same blue & white colors as my 99. It seemed the be in rather good shape. As I passed I could see a Dodge chassis from the mid 70s and a rather young driver, not an orginal owner for sure, but may be in the family. Funny thing was earlier in the day I thought I saw a 70s LD, but it turned out to be a SOB.

It wasn't me that you saw up there, but we have the 1975 model.  We purchased it right before New Years for a trip with my family out to Ocotillo Wells.  We didn't have to pay much for the unit but it needed alot of routine services caught up.  After the usual, replace the tires, tune up and fluid fills, and changing the belts, we started on the inside. We bought it soley because we did not have to use a tent or sleep

This actually sounds like a fun project, since apparently there is no major, expensive engine work to be done (or other serious problems with major systems). It just goes to show that LD is quality...after over 30 years, your unit was basically good to go!
 We sold our 1980 RB last year, and I was very sorry to see it go. It had been in the family since it was new, and we had done a lot of interior redecorating/remodeling, but like your unit, the basic mechanics were original and worked great.
