spark plug gap for '92 chevy LD

Hi everyone-
I am replacing my spark plugs on the LD I just purchased.  It's a 92 22fl with a Chevy 350 engine.  No where can I find a recommended gap measurement for this vehicle--there's no sticker and it's not in the owner's manual.

The replacement plugs came with a gap of .044....but sometimes you can get better performance by changing the standard gap.  Just wondering if anyone here knows the right number for LDs.

thanks,

Susan in NY

Champion Spark Plugs has an interactive web site where you can specify your vehicle, year, and specific engine and get this information.

Thanks Will, that Champion site is very good.  I found the proper gap for my plugs is .035....NOT the pre-set .044 the plugs came with.

I have installed the plugs and the engine runs beautifully.    The old plugs were not really bad...there were new wires installed.  But I doubt whoever installed them bothered to change the gap setting before they put them in.

I'm interested to see if this helps my gas mileage.  The previous owners of my LD kept a log book, and it looks like they averaged about 12 MPG.  My trip home (with the old plugs) I got only 10 MPG, going 65 through the mountains of Pennsylvania, totally unloaded. My old Chevy van, same year, same 350 engine, regularly got 15-16 mpg....so I believe improvement is possible.

I also installed a K & N air filter, as I have used them before and really believe they allow the engine to "respirate" better and give you a little more power. After I get some miles on the LD, I will re- post to let everyone know if I get any improved fuel efficiency or power enhancement from these modifications.

thanks again Will!

Your old Chevy van wasn't hauling five tons! ;-) If you're getting 10 mpg with a Chevy 350 in a Lazy Daze, you're doing well.
