Stabil or Heet were recommended. However, we haven't driven the RV since last November, so it's been 4 months. Is the gas already too watery or with too much of a varnish consistency? That's what someone told us. Can we still add something to the gas? Should we? Thanks Sue

Thanks Sue Sue: It is not so much that the gas tank contants will deteriorate as that the gas in the generator carbuerator will allow varnishes to come out and clog the works. You should always keep fresh gas in the generator, and you do that by first exercising the generator at least an hour a month and secondly that you get fresh gas into the engine gas tank. For a four month inactivity time, it is best to use a gas preservative (I favor Stabil) and then make sure you have run the generator enough to have the preserved gas in the carbuerator. As for what you do now, I would run the engine a long while by taking a drive and run the generator the entire time, then fill the tank with fresh gas. I think I also would put the recommended amount of injector cleaner in the tank.Good luckGus Weber

Not a good idea, but we added a product called Sea Foam. It comes in a retro looking red and white can; the jeep started right up and ran smoothly. A couple of months probably wont be a big deal with regard to letting a camper sit. Our Lazy Daze sat for 3 months last summer while we were camp hosting. We never added anything to the tank -- BUT, we filled the gas tank up before arriving at the campground. We had no problems doing it this way. If you make sure your gas tank is full before you put it in storage, there shouldn't be any room for condensation to form.Linda Hylton2004 Red 23.5' TK http://map.datastormusers.com/user3.cfm?user=1167 http://earl-linda.blogspot.com/
