A Delicate Subject . . .

Well, sort of!
I wasn't going to share this, but Andy thought it might be of some use to someone, so I am sharing what we have found to use for a trash can in our bathroom.
As you all know, the space is quite small.  We finally found a large cereal container (also sometimes called a sugar storer or flour storer).  It has a removable lid with a large flip up opening on the top.  By reversing the lid and placing the opening near the handle instead of the flat edge, you can access the opening easily for trash and then just grab it by the handle to pick it up to empty it.  Standard plastic grocery bags fit it perfectly.
If you'd like to see photos, go to the 3rd page of photos in the album "**Serenity/Cholula the Red 30TB" that is posted under LD Enhancements.

I'm leaving most of Kate's message intact, in case anyone missed it the first time. There are a bunch of good ideas here!  I did not realize, when I first looked at the photos, that there were multiple pages, so I missed some good tips, including the one for the compact bathroom trash container.  That's one I plan to use myself.  I do like the composting container we're currently using, especially since it's the same color as the countertop in the bath, but the one Kate suggests will be a better use of space.  I also happen to have an extra container like she describes in our pantry at home.

We use this storage container for our dogs' food bag.  We were told that putting pet food directly into a plastic container is not a good idea for long-term storage.  Instead, the opened bag is put into the plastic container, the snap-on top slips into the opened bag, and all you have to do to pour is flip open the spout.  It works well, and I bought two.  Now I know why! ;^)

It's worth pointing out that for those who don't flush toilet paper, this container with its tight-sealing lid is ideal!
