Solar panels and an RV cover.
Yahoo Message Number: 64629
I have an '84 22 RB with solar panels installed.  The RV is in outstanding contition because it has always been garaged or kept under a cover.  [:)]
Obviously, I'd like to continue this, but the cover covers the solar panels.  The LED shows the batteries are charging even with the cover on, but how much power am I really likely to generate this way?   Enough to keep the batteries topped up if everything nothing is drawing current?  [:-/]
Has anyone tried cutting out a section of your cover and sewing in a clear or translucent rectangle over your solar panels?  [:-?]

I too have wondered this [:-/] .  Is this tiny trickle charge enough to cover the little current drawn by the propane detector etc.?  (0.1 - 0.3 amps)

I thought about it, but in the end didn't bother.  We have a 120 plug nearby and just top it off with that now and then.  Wish some electrical guru would tell me how often I should do that and for how long? Or if it is even needed?
