Datastorm / MotoSat Fall Rally

Datastorm users and wannabes would enjoy the October 23-27 Rally at Kerrville, Texas, Buckhorn Ranch RV Park, just off the Interstate in Texas hill country.  We attended our first rally last fall after having our Datastorm installed near Fort Worth.  We enjoyed the demos, seminars, Q&A sessions, good food & entertainment, meeting other users and wannabes and discussing our satellite experiences.
The Datastorm folk demonstrated their various equipment, answered all questions, took suggestions, solved any problems users had; even going individually to motorhomes when needed (like us).  On the last day of the rally, there was a silent auction on all the demo equip.
Folks got new equip plus installation on the site, for low prices.

We wrote Lazy Daze that we were having a Datastorm installed. On delivery, we were told LD had reinforced that area of the roof. When we had it installed, the man said it was the easiest install  he had done because LD also allowed for the wiring.
We bought the additional equip "bird-on-a-wire" and chose DirecTv  as provider for tv.  We have used this equip from north to south into Mexico. Lost service in Canada but weren't there long enough to switch  satellites (small chg). 90% of the time, we can get local tv.
Visited Datastorm, Salt Lake City, near KOA, & had D2 update and met the techinal support and others. Their support by cell phone is great but we are thankful we had some previous experience in communications.  We use voice-over with grandchidren, family and all talk from different states or south Mexico when we lose cell phone service, using a headset or stand microphone. Quality varies.

Frequently we boondock and use Datastorm when we can run the generator. We watch some tv at nite using house batteries thru inverter, dish up and D2 powered off.  A year ago we had all the questions wannabes have; searched the intetnet and read the experiences of Paul & Kathleen & others. Decided to go Datastorm.
We can get on line 99% of the time. Sometimes inch forward or backward in a wooded campsite.  The one time we couldn't use Datastorm due to high mountains, we used the park hotel wifi.
After fulltiming a few months, we went from greenhorn users to can't live without it!
Thought someone had put a pic of our red/white LD with Tracker on the website when I logged on but no dish on top.  Hello to all the Lazy Dazers we met or waved at on the road this summer in Wyoming, Montana areas and the LDers we visited with at the LD caravans.

Tony and Suni - I've been wondering where you guys were - we haven't heard from you since we shared the campsite in Yellowstone with you guys and the Bison! I remember you talking about this rally. Keep us posted on what you learn - I still want to get to one of these sometime.

Happy full-timing! Sarah Englewood, CO

I'm wondering if us who use the tripod-mounted Direcway are invited, too?  Or is this exclusively for Datastorm users?
