Water pumps - 5.7 problems September 08, 2005, 02:00:01 pm Yahoo Message Number: 57858From what I have read, 5.7's with a manu date of 11/04 or earlier are suspect {ours was a 5/04}. These were the pumps that had the electrical problem - supposedly this problem is fixed in later model5.7's so no problem going forward {We'll see}. The replacement Steve Newton sent me has a 06/05 manu pump and I am quite happy as it works fine, great pressure and seems quieter than the other 5.7 we had. We'll see how long it lasts but I am confident that the Newton's would get rid of a part in their LD's before they allowed it to become a major problem because they personally have to answer our whining when something breaks before it's time - I whined pretty good! ;-)As for a 5.7 emptying a tank faster, as others have said, that is kinda silly as you can place whatever flow rate you want on your adjustable taps in your LD {they're all adjustable}. I never run my showers with the taps open very much and I get plenty wet and plenty clean.DaveRuby the red 04 RK
