Here is an ad for a LD from a recent Seattle Eastside newspaper:
"1995 LAZYDAZE 30' Class A (sic) self contained motorhome.  Generator, AC, Excellent condition, Blue / Ivory, Easy Driver, Lady Owner, $22,950.  425-508-2923 / 425-870-0121."

I have no other information or data on this one.

Thanks to Don McG for this lead:

1995 30ft Island Bed $22,950 * listed 7-30-05 95,000 miles Snohomish, WA 425-508-2923
I spoke with the owners.  The coach has been theirs since 2000.  They travel extensively, wintering in Florida or Southern California. Even though they visit California regularly, they have never been to the mothership because they have never needed major repairs.

The owners are planning to start full-timing soon, and have taken delivery of a 38ft Class A. (Mothership take note--another lost customer!) So they are eager to sell their LD, and are willing to negotiate a lower price.
The asking price of $23,000 is $7,000 lower than any price I have ever seen for a 30ft LD.  On the other hand, 95,000 miles is high (it's only 10,000 miles a year, but that's double what most 30ft LD owners drive), meaning engine and transmission work is likely sometime soon.

The 1995 30ft was built on the Chevy GP30 chassis, with Chevy 454 engine and 4 speed overdrive transmission.  This chassis was used by many Class A RV builders of the mid 1990's, so finding a qualified repairman should be a simple task.

The engine compartment of the GP30 extends forward farther than the smaller G30 van chassis.  For access, the hood and front fenders pivot forward as a unit, simplifying maintenance.  More room around the engine means better cooling than in the G30.  Since the engine is not buried back between the driver and front passenger seats, there is a smaller doghouse and more footroom.

If you call for more information, don't be confused by the owners' insistence that their LD is like a Class A.  What they mean is that the coach has the entertainment center rather than a cab-over sleeping area (this is the way all 30ft LDs are built).

Wonder what the weight specs are for that chassis.
The GP30 chassis with 19.5 inch wheels was sold with several GVWRs, from 14,000lbs up to 16,500lbs.  I don't know which LD used.  Perhaps Sylvia H. can enlighten us!

Chevrolet sold its G30 chassis business to Workhorse in 1998.
Workhorse decided not to build the version that included the van cab (the GP30).  So LD was left with only one cab-chassis chassis provider, Ford.

The Ford E450 is not available from the factory in a wheelbase long enough to work with LD's 30 foot coach design.  So LD sends the E450 chassis out to a company that cuts the frame and driveshaft, welds in new longer pieces, and lengthens the brake, fuel and electrical lines to fit the new wheelbase.  This is one reason why the 30 models are more expensive than the 26 foot ones.
