26.5 LD for family of 4? July 26, 2005, 12:51:54 pm Yahoo Message Number: 56127We thought we were all set on a 26.5" LD, then my wife was wondering if we'll have enough space as our two daughters are now 3 & 6 years old, but will grow quickly. And of course a friend will want to go sometimes. So, any families in a 26.5? We'll being mostly 2,3,4 day short trips here in GA. AL, FL, NC. thanks, Rick

Two of them sleep up top, and one sleeps on the dinette. I figure about the time that arrangement no longer works, they'll want to sleep out in a tent anyway!Go for it!Stacyteam6d wrote:QuoteWe thought we were all set on a 26.5" LD, then my wife was wondering if we'll have enough space as our two daughters are now 3 & 6 years old, but will grow quickly. Maybe we'll try that arrangement sometime - I'm jealous of my kids sleeping in the top bunk! joanne0012 wrote:QuoteDepends on your floorplan; the Mid-bath has the best accommodations for crowds, and the plans with an island bed and an entertainment center instead of an over-cab bed are of course the worst. At the Northeast Get-together in June, we met one family who traveled in a Midbath with FIVE adolescents. I learned one good trick from them: if you have a plan with two sofas in back that can be made up into a king-size bed (i.e., either the 26.5 mid-bath or the 23.5-foot TK), you can leave the sofas in place and use the two back cushions on the floor between them to create three narrowish but separate beds. I used this strategy recently while traveling with my two daughters, son-in-law and grandson. The 5 of us were quite comfortable in my TK, so you guys should positively rattle around in a 26.5. That was my suggestion, too. Usually about age 10-12, the kids want to be separated from the parents and will happily sleep in a tent. We've accommodated up to six adults in a 22-foot RB for daytime activities with reasonable comfort; sleeping arrangements would have been impossible. A tent or two can make this workable.Sonsie
