CONTROLING BLACK STREAKS

Anyone find a way to control black streaks? I know this is a age old rv challenge but some one told me they saw a rain drain system installed on a LD that all but eliminated them? ? ? ? ?

RV supply stores sell "gutters" that come with adhesive backing that you can install wherever you want on the side of your unit. I have seen them in white only. Not sure how well the adhesive lasts. It would change the look of the sides of your coach a little of course.

I have no experience with the drain/gutter systems. What has worked best for me for the past year is to wash the roof when I wash the LD.
No black streaks since. Good luck with whatever you decide --

"halnpeg" ??? (names are nice),
When this was discussed once before, the general consensus seemed to be that washing the roof regularly is the best control measure.
It seems to work for me.  Whenever I wash the LD, which is normally at the end of each trip, I use Walmart 'Blue Coral' wash and wax liquid.
I start with a bucket of water with a generous dash of Blue Coral and a long-handled brush on the roof, and work down on the LD from there.
I've never had any problem with black streaks so far.
