LD competitor Robin Hood?
Yahoo Message Number: 50751
Does anyone have information about an RV manufacturer named "Robin Hood?"  I believe that they were Lazy Daze competitors in Southern California in the late 1970's.  It's possible that people who started Robin Hood used to work for LD.
The Robin Hood RV was constructed using aluminum roof and sides, like LDs are.  They were built on Dodge chassis, like LDs of that era were, in 21, 23 and 24 ft lengths.

I saw a Robin Hood coach for sale in the Recycler, a Southern California auto trader magazine: http://tinyurl.com/6cohz

This example has very clean lines and appears to be in great condition for a 30 year old vehicle.  Compare it with this LD of similar vintage: http://tinyurl.com/4xprl

I have seen several of these, and they don't bear much resemblance to LD style characteristics. Virtually all RVs of the day had aluminum-sheathed, fiberglas insulated, wood-frame construction, and class-c's were all on Dodge chassis. The smooth skin vs. corrugated tends to differentiate upper-crust from average, at least by intent.
I am not aware of the history of the Robin Hood brand, but my vote is no relationship to LD nor intent to compete head-to-head.
