I was wondering for those who do not live in California or have traveled and had difficuties, have you found mechanics who can work on Lazy Daze? How about ordering parts? Reimbursenments for warranty from factory? Thank you for your help, Stephanie and Ed.

We live in NY and the same question re warranties came up with us. On the LD, the chassis and engine are covered by Ford and service can be had at most Ford dealers. However, most Ford car dealers won't do warranty or service work because they cnnot handle the size.
Ford provides a list of dealers who will do warranty and/or service, but it is not too accurate. You have to call the dealer and ask if they can handle your vehicle. For an on-the-road problem, we just pull into the nearest Ford dealer (fortunately, this has only happened once).
All of the appliances and add-ons such as the awning, Fan-tastic vent, etc, are covered by individual warranties and can be serviced at any RV dealer.
LD warants the coach only and we suggest that anyone picking up a new rig take a shake-down cruise over various roads before leaving the CA area. We took a great trip up through Las Vegas to St. George and then to Zion NP, North Rim of the Grand Canyon, south on US 89 to Flagstaff, and west to the coast on I40 &I15. Our only problems were a dinette table which wouldn't stay closed (not a problem in the new 26 MB) and a drawer that wouldn't stay shut. We returned to LD and they fixed them immediately while we waited (less than an hour).
In five years and 51M miles we've had no more coach problems. A ratchet on the Dometic awning broke in the 4th year but it was fixed for free at a Dometic service center (not a dealer) in Ontario, CA. We currently have a problem with the refrigerator no cooling properly and, when cool, not maintaing temp during the daytime.
We're working on this. Otherwise no problems, not even rattles which usually result from use and age.
On the mechanical side, we've had quite a bit of trouble with the engine. Mostly with the exhaust manifolds. We've had constant leaks and have had work done a half dozen times.
At present we have another manifold leak which is coming on.
Out-of-state buyers who take delivery in CA should be aware that the CA emmissions warranty is better in some ways than in most states and, if you need work on your engine/drive train, be sure to ask your dealer if the problem is covered under the CA warranty.
