clear bra January 28, 2005, 10:40:52 am Yahoo Message Number: 49993I want to hear from anyone that has applied the product Clear Bra to the front of their Lazy Daze motor home. It is a 3M product that protects the front from rock chips, bugs etc. It is used frequently on high end autos. I am told that it will not hurt the paint, but I would like to here from someone that has used it on a Lazy Daze The all-new My Yahoo! If you go to Art's Archive...http://www.lazydazers.org/Yahoo/msg_display.php> ...and search on "clear bra" (important: include the quotation marks), you'll find half a dozen messages that mention it.Andy Baird

Installation was a bit tricky but with patience I did a pretty good job. There website ( http://www.stongard.com ) shows that they have a kit but I have never received a response if the kit is specific for the 2005's. An alternative that I may get is a similar product used by Newmar called Diamond Shield ( http://diamond- shield.com ). They quoted me a kit price of $164 without headlights and $210 with headlights for a 2005 E450. Some posters stated that it needs to be replaced every 3-6 years. No way. The StonGard (made by 3M) looks as good as new after 3 years and I see no reason why it won't last. I suspect that the plastic will dry out over time but that doesn't mean it will need to be replaced. StonGard warranties their product against cracking or yellowing for the life of the vehicle (restrictions, I'm sure, apply). Diamond Shield's warranty I'm not sure about. For $164, I'm gonna do it.#8253
