Can anyone tell me when the first 23.5 were built and the 22 was dropped from the line up? Gene

I assume your interest is when the Ford chassis (23.5') was used in preference to the Chevy (22'). In fact they were both available for several years in the late '80's, early '90's, so looking by year isn't a good method.

In addition, a new floorplan 22' model was available on the Ford chassis fairly recently.

I think the 22ft Chevy models was introduced in 1981, and continued into 1996.  The 23ft Ford appeared in 1988, and continues today.
Below are my notes about all Lazy Daze models through the years. I'd appreciate comments and corrections.

Can you tell us more about this, Steve? What was this shorter floorplan, and when was it offered?

I'm afraid my recollection is vague. I think it was somewhere in the range of '99 to '02, and it seems maybe it had a rear kitchen and small bath, with the forward section similar to a front lounge or dinette. It seemed to me you gave up a lot to save a couple of feet! Perhaps someone has some brochures from that period?

23ft and 23.5ft refer to the same models on the Ford chassis.  22ft is the Chevy chassis.

Referring to the 23 foot model, the LD web site states "bumper to bumper 281 inches, add 2 inches for spare tire cover and additional 2" for ladder" Even though this is a 26ft model, it illustrates how the tire cover and ladder stick out: http://www.motorhomesonsale.com/lmanager/listings/images/765_8_t.jpg

my arithmetic:  281+2+2 = 285 inches = 23 ft, 9 in So to be accurate we ought to refer to these models as 23.75ft.

Ok, now we are getting somewhere, Oryoki where did they put the extra 1.5 feet on the Ford chassis lounge, kitchen or bath? Gene

My understanding is the coach layout/length is the same. The extra length is in the cab engine section as the Ford front end is longer than a Chevy 'snub nose' front end.
