FYI December 17, 2004, 12:57:14 pm Yahoo Message Number: 47974For the curious, here is a brief summary of the Consumers Report 11/2004 study of SUV/Light Truck Tires (All season). 22 tires tested. Highest rated brand: Goodyear. Lowest rated brand: B.F.Goodrich. The tested Michelin LTX M/S was rated 17th out of the 22 tested tires. As you know, CR uses a series of colored dots to indicate the rating. From solid red, the best, (I'll call a 5 to solid black, the worst,(I'll call a 1).Dry braking: 1 Wet braking: 3 Handling: 3 Hydroplaning: 4 Rolling resistance: 4 Snow traction: 5 Ice braking: 3 Ride: 3 Noise; 3Offered FYI only. No editorial comments included. :-)Ed Glad to get rid of the Firebooms. So far I have 7 miles on the new Goodyear 647's. So far, so good. I'll let you know if my opinion changes over time.
