Is it safe to assume a 2001 LD uses the PWM protocol for the interface since all other Fords listed on the Digimoto site use it? Also, does the Ford E450 output the engine rpms and temperature? I could see a running output of these useful for gear selection in hilly terrain.
Thanks, Ray
Since I wrote that, I would assume so. I have just done that on my GM cars, so I have no basis to confirm one way or the other on the Ford.
OBDII is a fairly formal industry code, so as long as you are using the proper manufacturer interface, it should work. If you have questions, I would just email the company. As I mentioned before, there are other software solutions out there, and hardware as well. I would think that it would be much simpler just installing a tachometer and an accurate temperature gauge on your rig than trying to access that information continuously through the on-board computer. But, that's just me :)
