seeking "best buy" RV items
Yahoo Message Number: 47214
Hi--I am right in the middle of trying to find the best prices on a shopping list of items.  I have checked out some of them with Camping World, Camper's Choice, and RV Parts Outlet.  Before I start clicking on multiple links with my dial-up service and spend hours online, I thought I'd ask if any of you have any leads on the items below.  I'm also open to suggestions for improved products, if any of you would like to offer that.  The list is below.

Thanks,  Eileen

2 MaxxAir Turbo fans with thermostat 1 MaxxAir vent cover 4 AGM Lifeline batteries 2 solar panels (100 watts each at least) 1 Wave 6 catalytic heater, portable, with legs 1 300-400 watt plug-in inverter POSSIBLY:  1 Honda 1000 generator

Eileen,

I've found that solar stuff is available for a lot less, with much more selection, from sources other than the usual RV supply places.

You may want to check size and fit for the two 100 watt panels. I'm sure you can make it work, but it's best to get up there with a tape measure to see which panels will fit where. Also consider that you don't want them snugged up next to things that will shade them - - like the air conditioner. Even a little shade will dump the output of a crystaline panel.

I mapped out the roof of my MB to try and figure out how much panel I could reasonably install. It came down to either two large 167 watt or four 85 watt Shell panels. I went with the 4 smaller panels as the layout was better and I figured if one was ever damaged . . .

I also had to settle for the 80 watt version (same size), as the 85 was back-ordered and out of stock everywhere I looked. The panels were about $320 each.

Other wiser more experience LDers will doubtless chime
