LD in general

We've had our 26 and a half midbath (MB) for five years. We've crossed the U.S. ten times (five each way) towing a Suzuki Sidekick and have about 51K miles now.
Before we bought we looked at all sorts, including Born Free. The latter looks nice when new, but doesn't seem to stand up too well. The fiberglass will fade and the inside seems to get tired pretty quick. The LD, on the other hand, is a dream to keep clean with its polyurethane finish which, with a coat of wax every other year or so, looks like new. The high quality interior is easy to keep clean also.
We didn't take the generator as we don't care much for the noise they make when running. However, we could see a use for it solely to run the microwave. Otherwise we have dry-camped for up to a week without recharging the house batteries.
We are toying with the idea of getting another LD but, after a lot of thought, we think we would opt for the 23 foot front lounge model. That model is easier to manuever and we wouldn't need to tow another car. Also, it has a larger bathroom and gives you actual chairs to sit on. This can get kind of important after 2-3 months on the road! Only drawback with this model is lack of outside storage. LD will delete the generator for an additional storage bin, but that's it.
We would be interested in hearing from LD owners in the northeast. Besides us, there are two on Long Island and at least one in CT.
For all you members picking up new LD's, if you can schedule pickup around the time of an LD caravan, it would be worth your while to go to the caravan and talk with other LD owners. If you ask, you'll be deluged with tips and advice on just about anything to do with the LD.
Anyway, those are just some observations on LD's. For those of you who have them, enjoy. And for those of you waiting for delivery or looking for a used one, the wait is worth it.
