Since I have an afternoon appointment for inpection and orientation, I plan to sleep in the rig that nite, before driving it to northern calif the next day. LD suggests 3 rv parks: Fairplex -Pomona, East Shore - San Dimas, and Prado - Chino.Anyone out there have an opinion up or down on any of these? I just need a quiet and safe place to overnite, so park amenities aren't a big deal.Thanks in advance /noel/

An hour or so closer to your destination is Camping World in Valencia. Just a parking lot, and freeway noise, but there's a dump, it's free and relatively safe, and you'll get a big jump on traffic the next morning. Plus, of course, you can stock up on any unnecessary goodies. A Walmart is adjacent, but not connected.Steve

East Shore at Bonelli Park in San Dimas will be quiet, nice facilities in a "rolling hills" atmosphere. I am a local musician and have performed at some events held here...doesn't feel like you are "in the city". 2. Fairplex- Nice park, very clean. I have only used their dump station, but I was very impressed at how nice it was for an 'urban campground'. Right across from the LA County Fairplex. Nicest KOA I've seen. 3. El Prado- too close to dairy farms, flys will be bad, as will the smell.East Shore and the Fairplex parks are pretty close to each other and only about 5 miles from Lazy Daze. As far as being safe...keep in mind that you are in Pomona. These parks will probably be quiet, but I can't guarantee safe. I don't know if they have had any incidents...probably wise to ask the Pomona Police Dept. There should be plenty of people at these first two choices...if there is any events going on at the Fairgrounds, you should check to see if they even have vacancy. The two camprounds are popular for people coming to car shows, horse events, computer shows, and the other various events that go on.I feel your excitement!!!Rob

This allowed us to drive all over CA for a month and then back to NY before we registered the vehicle. The only drawback is that we had to pay the CA sales tax up front, but since it was less than the NY sales tax it didn"t make any difference. Got a credit for the CA tax and paid the difference when we registered it in NY. Also met a couple from FL who registered their LD before they picked it up and brought the FL plates with them when they picked up at the factory.
