Robin -

I don't have any advice for you on what to take or ship to the LD factory. We have rented a couple of times but this is our first new MH.

We live in Dallas and are planning to take 4 days to bring our new LD home with no extended sightseeing on the way so we are bringing only basic items: clothes, personal items, etc. No dogs, no kids. We will get other necessary items on the road as we go.

What I am doing right now is making up a list of goodies we want to purchase from Lazy Daze. When we received our confirmation letter, they said that if we mailed a list of items we would like to purchase, Nancy would get these things together for us while we are going through the orientation. Look in your owner's manual starting on page 65.
Also, don't forget to get LD t-shirts when you pick up your MH (I ordered four).

P.S.
We are now at eight days and the number keeps going down. I am looking forward to taking a relaxing ride home with just my husband and also to taking some trips with our boys (ages 19 and 17) before they get to old to want to travel with us.

Mrs. Gug,
How was the whole experience of picking up your new LD? We will be picking ours up in April. Did LD have all the goodies that you requested in stock? Thanks.

We've had our MH at home this week unloading and cleaning from our first trip in our LD to Caprock Canyons State Park. Also, I've been stocking in some things that will stay in the MH.

Our experience of pick up was just great. Someone from LD came and picked us up at our hotel Thursday A.M. Our MB was waiting in the parking lot when we got there.
Juan Camarillo took us through everything in the coach, how it worked, where it is, etc. We then went through all of the required paperwork and were ready to go by 11:30 A.M.

I had sent my list of goodies on ahead of time and Nancy gathered everything together while we were going through the LD. Everything was in stock.

For those of you using the ICC carrier, our driver was Judy and the trip was very pleasant. We didn't do anything for the first 3 hours but watch the scenery. I have no problems with using the carrier and would probably do it again.

Not sure what you meant by "goodies". Is this your stuff like sheets, pots/pans etc. or is this stuff you bought from LD? If latter, would you mind sharing for my experience and others?Thankyou.

Hi! I have my own identity now (but I am still married to guglielmo2k.)

Haven't read messages till now. When we came out for our pick up, we stayed at Country Inn & Suites ( http://www.countryinns.com ). There is also a Doubletree across the street.
Last year when we toured the factory we stayed at the Ontario Airport Marriot but it was hard to get a good non-weekend price. Good price at Country Inn ($99 for
1-bedroom suite, $89 for regular room) for a Wednesday
night stay and they will pick you up at the aiport. All of the above listed are nearer the airport than the Lazy Daze factory, there really isn't much close to the factory.

As to goodies, a lot of what you might buy depends on whether you are a new owner or have already owned a RV. I made my list from the manual and most of those can be bought at Walmart, Camping World, etc. I did buy a doormat, front cab floor mats and dash cover with the Lazy Daze name on them. I also picked up touch up paint since Lazy Daze can't ship that. Oh yeah, the major goodie is T-Shirts!!!

As posted previously, most of my "goodies" are things you can really get anywhere but Lazy Daze prices these items competitively so I figured I might as well get them now.

They don't sell kitchen items like pots and pans with the exception of a cutting board and dish pan that does fit the sink. My cookware is Ingenio from T-Fal. Comes with lids for everything and detachable handles so all the pots and skillets nest inside each other very compactly. I love it.

For linens, I mentioned previously that you can buy comforters from Lazy Daze to fit your bed set up and can also order extra sheet sets. The comforter is similar to a Travel-Sak available from Camping World but these only go up to a queen size and I wanted a king size.

OK, where the heck do you find that T-Fal that has detachable handles? I've never seen it anywhere. Thanks, Sarah in Seattle/Edmonds

I got my T-fal at K-Mart and it does go on sale from time to time.

Otherwise, if you want to find out something about it, T-Fal does have a web site and a factory outlet store where you can order on line ( http://ingenio.t-fal.com ).

We ordered our T-Fal cookware from the outlet(http://ingenio.t-fal.com)today. The cost on their special sale for the entire 13 piece set was $59.99 + shipping. They say supplies of this special sale/set are very limited. Looks like a great value. The product looks to have multiple uses and stores very well and that is what we were looking for. Thanks loads!

We ordered the same item. Did notice that if you allow shipping by 2day air, which is their default setting, they want $23.39 to ship!
