Steve, et al: I'm going to have a Fantastic Fan installed in my 22' LD in April. Have been thinking of putting it in the forward (near the stove/dinette) vent area rather than the rear one because it could double as an exhaust for the stove. Sounds like you're confirming that this is probably a good idea, huh? My over-the-stove is also really noisy and probably too old to be very effective. Can anyone think of a drawback to this idea? Thx, Sarah

PS - Nearly fell out of my chair laughing at the Old Jersey Ladies' recommendation to tilt the LD up on Jacks to capture the solar energy. Somehow some cartoonist is going to have to get hold of that. It's just too good to lose.

Sounds good to me, Sarah. I also recommend our setup, which is a manual open/close model with the thermostat, with a rain shroud over that. That allows powered ventilation even in the rain. We pretty much just leave the vent lid open all the time.

Will the vent take the standard 14" fantastic fan from Camping World?

Any of the Lazy Daze vents except the escape hatch over the bunk will accept the FF. However, some wiring will be required in older units where the vent is not pre-wired. A vent location with good access for running over an electrical circuit from a nearby light, etc, will avoid the need for exposed wiring.
