Day 2 Lewis and Clark

The verizon network express is working well.  I only lost the connection once so far.  Street Atlas and the Garmin etrex legend GPS are communicating well.  We made it out of LA without a problem.  The LD cruised up to 4200' Cajon Pass easily.  We climbed the grade out of Baker while passing numerous overheated cars and a couple of RVs.
It is hot here in Las Vegas.  The only problem was when I noticed the "fish eye" mirror attached to the driver's side sidemirror was flopping in the wind as I was driving.  I was able to lower the window and grab it before it blew off.  It was really hot! I think the heat melted the glue!!  I'll find some glue at an Auto parts store and see if it will stay on.  Today, we are off to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  No room around the waistline for buffets.

Instead of glue, a silicon designed for high heat engine applications may work well.  I use the blue and red silicone for similar uses to attaching a mirror back on.
