Kwickee levelers position while in storage.
Yahoo Message Number: 24341
Have recently purchased a LD with levelers.  Thought I read somewhere that the levelers should be deployed when Unit is in storage or someplace(backyard, driveway, etc.) thats its not going to be used for sometime.  This seems like it would put a lot of undo(IMO)stress on the levelers.  Would appreciate any comments on the dos and don'ts about deploying levelers in the scenario as stated above.

On another note, has any LDers had any good, bad or indifferent experience with the repair services at Camping World.  I'm sure that the level of service can fluctuate from one CW to another, but if you have any first hand knowledge/experience with any CW I would appreciate your comments.

I would also like to hear from any LDers that have taken any of CWs tours.  They seem to have appealing tours at reasonable prices.  Your pros and cons of these CW tours would be appreciated or for that fact any other tour company that you have had first hand experience.

You should really check your manual that should have come with any brand of jacks to see what the manual says or contact the manufacturer for their recommendations. Only they know the REAL answer to this question for their product. Not all brands are made the same just as not all RVs are.
I have Big Foot jacks and was told by them that using the jacks while in storage is perfectly fine and they even recommended doing it to keep the weight off the tires. There are proceedures that must be followed when keeping the jacks deployed for extended periods. They must be sprayed with silicone prior to retracting them to prevent tear damage to the seals. If in an area of high amounts of salt, dirt, or wind this should be done monthly. There are also other maintenance practices recommended to keep the jacks in good working order including checking the fluid level. I use my jacks most times it is just sitting in the driveway though I often leave it just a little off level so the water runs off the roof and doesn't collect and puddle on it.

As for CW and repairs keep in mind they do not do many types of repairs! The work they do installing products they sell varies from location to location and tech to tech. You may want to ask people with RVs in your area about repair shops they use. Like the LD factory states most often independent RV repair centers do the best work for the best prices. That's because it's their only or major source of income. Many also sell RV parts but they live on the repair business and have to buy from RV parts distributors anyway so they often carry parts and accessories as a sideline business. With CW parts and accesories is their major business and repairs and installations are their sideline business. RV dealers are often the worst place to take your RV for a repair, their major business is selling RVs. With all these there are exceptions so asking people locally is your best bet. You can even ask CW who they'd recommend for things they can't or just don't do repairs on. Also check your local yellow pages for RV repair centers and find out how long they've been in business. Then ask people about those that have been in business for a long time.
