Rear bath vs. Mid-bath

Dave & Laurie asked the pros and cons when comparing the RB and the MB floorplans. No offense to Ron, who owns and likes the Rear Kitchen, but that layout, which is very nice, has a few shortcomings compared to the two in question. Most notably, lack of kitchen counter space, and overhead storage capacity. If you search through the arhives, you will find some interesting discussions on this matter. I also wonder, based on your question regarding price negotiations; have you visited the factory? I cannot overstate the importance of visiting the showroom to make this decision. As I was told early in my quest, don't make the decision solely on a diagram of the layouts. Now to the issue. We went to the factory to see them all, but thought we would order the mid-bath. We were overwhelmed by the openess of the rear-bath and when we left the factory, we planned to order the rear-bath. But the next day, we realized why WE should get the mid-bath. We sometimes have different sleep patterns and find it better to have two seperate living areas: advantage mid-bath.(we use the rear lounge for sleeping while some may use the overcab area). My wife likes a large kitchen: advantage mid-bath.  We also found that we prefer the privacy of the rear lounge (for sleeping and relaxing) better in the rear of the mid-bath. No need to block off the truck cab with the curtain if you don't feel like it: Advantage mid-bath. I also think the mid-bath has more interior storage and exterior storage capacity. If you want the added benefit of the entertainment center, the rear-bath would certainly be the best way to go. The bath is larger in the rear bath, but the mid-bath is very user friendly as well. The only negative issue on either plan, for us anyway, was we did not like having the fridge in the bathroom when you use the room divider in the rear-bath plan. I think the mid-bath may be the finest floorplan offered in a small motorhome. There is a reason it is the most popular LD layout! But please make sure you visit the factory before you order. I am amazed at how folks (brave souls) can order without visiting. Good luck! Steve K.
