glass fuse, thanks
Yahoo Message Number: 23776
A month or so ago someone was having electrical problems, and SOMEONE suggested that he replace the glass fuse, even if it looked OK, because they can have micro-cracks.
I don't remember who that was - maybe Mike, one of the Steves, or Larry.
Anyway, I've had an intermittent problem with my refrigerator fuse ever since I bought Mz. Daisy 3 years ago. I don't know about the new models, but in the '87, there's a little glass fuse in the outside refrigerator compartment where the burner is. The previous owner (original owner) had even wired a little screw driver to unscrew and re-screw this fuse. So it has been a problem for a really long time.
When the burner wouldn't light, that's what you did to fix it. Un-screw it and re-screw it. The burner invariably lit at that point.
I had cleaned the fuse holder out with alcohol - that didn't work. So I decided it was just something I'd live with.
NO MORE! Thanks to  someone on this list. Bought new glass fuses - put one in weeks ago, and no more problem.

What a great group.
