Nukamper 2000-You mentioned receiving a quote from Progressive for your LD of around $400.  I just picked up our 26.5 MB in March and have Progressive and it's costing me over $900.  Any idea what could cause the HUGE difference?  What is your deductable?  Mine is $250.
Anyone else that could offer help please let me know your thoughts.

Dan and Julie were asking about the variance of premiums, their's being near $900, and the approx. $400 we are paying. I can't explain the spread between premiums; I can tell you we elected to have a $500 deductible and it DOES include replacement value coverage. The posts that I made about my experience were to alert some of you to the fact that there IS a variance between what Progressive Direct quotes and Progressive indpendent agents. As Allen mentioned, your location is a big influence, as are things like driving record (mine is clean), recent claims history (again, nothing recent for me) and even credit ratings influence the rate. Our agent, called back with a lower rate after initially quoting similar figures to Progressive direct. I was shocked at the low rate, but jumped on it. Suggest you do some investigating and start shopping if the answers don't make sense.

Dedctble may be part of rhe difference, but variation from state to state and even zip code to zipcode within a state can make a huge difference.
Also the distance you drive every year and the driving record of each individual listed on the policy make a difference.
Ironically, the individual insurance agent might be able to get a better rate than you can going directly to the company.  I have heard of widely differing rates, especially with Progressive.
 Try a few other companies and compare rates and coverage.  The lower rate may not be full replacement.
