What a fantastic learning experience. It seems like LD motorhomes _and_ LD owners are the best! I am looking at the 26.5' mb for near full-timing. I sent LD email yesterday asking if the Ford chassis shortage, or the v10 engine specifically, were causing the long lead time. Their response was that the chassis is no longer the limiting factor, but that last year's shortage helped create the current backlog, and that the overwhelming sales keep the backlog going. Today, I attended the Cal Expo boat & rv show in Sacramento. Of course, the highly coveted LD units were nowhere to be seen, because there is no dealer network for them. I checked out the other brands of class c's and have to say, wow, what cr*ppy design, materials, and workmanship. They just seem thrown together. I am planning a flight down to the LD factory in the next couple of weeks to test drive and likely place an order.
