I was probably taking delivery about the time you were traveling through here. I live in the San Luis Obispo area (specifically Santa Margarita), having returned here last year after being away for six years. I used to live in Shell Beach, and yikes it has changed! Can't beat that majestic ocean view, though, no matter all the condo blight on the hills. San Luis is still full of charm no doubt due to the hyper-vigilance of the residents who stifle unwanted building. Did you happen to check out the home prices? Probably a tad steeper than when you were at Cal Poly. Try $350K+ for a basic 3BR tract home. Other LD folks also live in the area and you'll probably hear from them. Let us know next time you're traveling through.
