Another newbie question -- old LD -- instrument lights
Yahoo Message Number: 23278
Okay, this one is actually more of a Dodge question than an LD question per se.  Drove the '78 22.5' LD last night and discovered that the instrument light for the fuel/engine temp is out.  Chilton manual for the era is useless for that fix, and I haven't looked for a Haynes manual yet.  Anybody ever replaced instrument cluster lights for Dodge circa late 70's early 80's?

Thanks

Ben

Not a lot of direct Dodge van experience here - mst older units are new enough to have the Chevy. Those allow fairly easy removal of the cluster, and most problems relate to contact problems with the flexible circuit board - either at the light fixtures or where the main harness plugs into the board. A pencil-type sharpenable eraser is the right abrasive tool for cleaning these. Hope this is of some help. Also, Helms supplies the GM factory manuals, and if you can get the equivalent for Dodge, it will be much more useful than the aftermarket pubs.
