The Escapees club ( http://www.escapees.com/website/  ) has sub-groups called 'Birds of a Feather', or BOF for short. There are a lot BOFs like the Lazy Daze BOF, Quilters, Barbershop Harmony, Boomers (the Boomer age-group people), Computer group, SOLO's (singles)  Boondockers, - - - you name the interest, and there's probably a BOF group.

I've been taking care of myself, by myself, for long enough that doing things on my own isn't frightening. Cindy, traveling by yourself isn't for everyone, and actually, I find it a lot more fun when I'm traveling with someone else, or some group of people. It's not scary camping or traveling by myself - but it's simply more fun with somebody else. This is actually something I just discovered since I retired. I like being with someone better than being alone.
So, if you don't want to be by yourself, just know that you don't have to be. There are groups like the Wandering Individuals Network (WINs) http://www.rvsingles.org/ who travel together. Not all of them are single, by the way - just people who are traveling as individuals. This group is interested in hiking - kayaking, off-roading, geocaching, being really active.  I don't stay with them all the time, but it sure is nice knowing that I can find them and meet up with them anytime I want to. I also belong to two Lazy Daze groups (Northern Exposures and the Pacific Northwest group), RV-Talk, FMCA, and some others. I'm not active with all of them and will let some memberships drop. You can belong to too many things, so sort of check some of them out first.
